In the December 2012 issue of Washingtonian Magazine, my first printed professional writing piece. I’m becoming a bully breed advocate by doing a portrait series on people that have rescued bully breeds (not just Pit Bulls). I intend to have the series widely published. Spread the word and get involved. This is something near and dear to my heart. I hope to not only promote dog/pet adoption, but also help negate the negative stigmas that society has for these inherently gentle dogs. Blame the human that teaches a dog to fight, and not the dog. My Pit Bull mix Emma, is probably one of the most gentle loving creatures you will ever meet, and she is the inspiration for this photo series.
Emma, my lovable rescue Pitt mix, and I had to have our portaits taken for an upcoming magazine article on dog rescue, which will be coming out soon. I’m developing a personal photo series to hopefully help change the stigma on bully breeds and to promote dog rescue/adoption. Stay tuned for more information on this. I may be taking a photo of you in the near future.
Photos of us by my friend Bobby Bruderle. Probably the best portrait ever taken of me. Being a photographer myself, I feel incredibly awkward in front of the camera and Bobby did an amazing job. He’s a fantastic shooter and DP on a lot of my bigger video productions. Check out his great work! bobbybruderle.com
The holidays may be over, but it’s never too late to enjoy pets versus wrapping paper videos. There’s a dog and cat video for you animal lovers out there. Although, I’ll admit, the music is a little maddening.
As some of you may have seen in my recent roadtrip photos, I had an…incident… with my iPhone 3G. I decided to bite the bullet and pay the money for the upgraded 3Gs. I have really been enjoying the upgraded camera and the video function. Enjoy the antics of my furry partner in crime, Winston, playing in my backyard as I test the video mode out.
I hope everyone is having a good week so far! I’m off to the west coast to do a few fun photoshoots. In the meantime I have posted some photos from a few recent shoots I have done this past month. More to come!
