Want to see how a music magazine shoot happens? Check out this behind the scenes vid of my Alternative Press Magazine cover photo shoot with the band Crown The Empire. This would be my second time photographing the band for the cover of this magazine.
Images captured using my Phase One IQ140 medium format and Profoto D1 flash heads. Power for the flashes were provided by Paul C. Buff Vagabond Mini power packs.
I love the original Robocop film and my friends and I have obsessed about it for years. I’ve been extremely busy (thankfully) with photoshoots, but I always make sure to clear some time in my schedule to add to my “Unicorn Project” (a personal project dedicated to capturing movie and tv cars). This time I had the opportunity to photograph a Robocop suit molded from the one used in the original film along with a replica OCP Ford Taurus police car, but I had to fly to Phoenix first…
Stay tuned to my facebook page, I will be giving away free posters, computer wallpapers, and even offering a Robocop retouching contest with prizes.
If you want to see an extensive blog post that explains how this shoot came together, how it was captures, and even see more edited images, go here: http://fstoppers.com/the-robocop-ph…
If you are flipping through this month’s Road and Track Magazine (the one with the new Ford Mustang on the cover), you will definitely see the first of my Jeep Cherokee print ads in the wild. Well, you won’t have to go far because it’s on the inside of the front cover
If you followed my various forms of social media, you probably saw I was in Jackson Hole, Wyoming taking photos. My job was to shoot fun print and web advertorial content for Road and Track and Car and Driver Magazines over the course of a week of the new redesigned Jeep Cherokee. They gave me 2 pre-released vehicles and drivers and essentially told me to go nuts (in more or less words), and go nuts I did.
So the Cherokee may not share the rugged squared-off looks of its predecessor, but with its new platform comes better and class-leading off road capability (trust me, I pushed my luck and it handled itself well), excellent road manners, great gas mileage, and impressive technology. I was a skeptic at first, but HONESTLY for under $40k you cannot beat what this thing can offer you in a small-to-mid SUV.
I’ll make sure to share more content as they become live. Got some purty Wyoming/off-roading images that I would love to share with you!
Well I wrapped up 2013 with the ultimate personal photoshoot (well, my definition of it anyhow). I’ve always wanted to do my own retro Robocop-themed photoshoot and I flew to Phoenix Arizona to do just that. Why Arizona? How did I get a Robocop suit and Robocop 1990’s Ford Taurus police car? I’ll be releasing a full post with all of the details, behind the scenes video, edited set of images, and will even be giving away posters! Stay tuned guys.
Sean Madden, creative director from the ad agencyBrains On Fire, reached out to me earlier this year and asked if given an arsenal of stunt drivers, the newest high performance BMW’s, and a closed race course, could I create a 58 foot long composite print for BMW. My answer? “When can I start?”.
If you like watching behind the scenes videos and / or want to see how I’ve put a lot of my big shoots together, head on over to my portfolio website (www.SondersPhotography.com) and check out my new “Behind the Scenes” section.
