When I was 8 years old, my family bought me my frist Polaroid camera. That started my early love for photography. I would capture EVERYTHING the minute my parents would make the mistake of giving me a pack of film. Last holiday season, I treated myself with a Polaroid 600 I purchased on ebay for about $10 and about $100 worth of film from The Impossible Project.

Sure, a pack of 8 photos may cost about $20 on average, but that I use my polaroid as a special treat that I only use on special occasions or gathering of old friends. It forces me to be more deliberate with my picture-taking and removes me from the thought process of post-production or iphone photo filters (which I also love of course). I go back to the basics essentially. I dont know what it is. Maybe the whir of the motors as the film pops out and everyone rejoices with delight or the waiting to see how the photo came out, but it brings me back to that 8 year old kid that just loved to capture his life. Nothing more, nothing less.
Anyone else shooting Polaroids again now that Impossible Project is re-manufacturing film?

I LOVE Impossible Project's PX 600 SILVER SHADE UV+ BLACK FRAME film. Posing with Calvin Hollywood and Glyn Dewis.

I’ve been shooting Impossible Project film on and off for the last year for just personal work. I really love the vintage feel that comes from the films they offer. I know a lot of people bitch and moan about how pricey it is, but its still fun to shoot with.
Doug, after allowing me to use your polaroid to shoot you and Eric V. I came home and opened my Polaroid ProPack with side arm flash my father gave me to display as an antique (still in the box). It was in pristine shape and powered right up with a new set of batteries. Can’t wait to try it out. Thanks for the tip on the Impossible Project.
Can you post the photo I took so that I might link/blog about it? That is, if it turned out ok. Thanks.
