NBA Player Rudy Gay Photoshoot For Dime Magazine – November 2011

My second photoshoot with basketball player Rudy Gay is hot of the presses (you can see my first shoot with him here) in the new issue of Dime Magazine. I took these at the basketball courts he played on while growing up in the Baltimore, Maryland area. Most images were taking with a large softbox as a main light and a strip softbox as a rim light. For the shot above and on the left (against the blue door), I used a beauty dish with 30 degree grid to create a spotlight effect on him and the wall.

Rudy is a really cool laid back guy. We all had a fun time on set doing this shoot. I included some behind the scenes and outtakes for your enjoyment (see below).

  1. Nice photo shoot. I really like the shadows on his shirt in the purple shirt shots.

Are you aware on the mobile version of your site that the Connect bar on the left partially obscured the text/pictures? On the iPhone, anyhow. Just a heads-up.
