Canon's new 21 megapixel camera body!

Yes please!

"The Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III is an engineering tour de force which, true to the EOS-1 legacy, redefines the state of the art in no uncertain terms. An entirely new 21.1-megapixel full-frame Canon CMOS sensor delivers astounding image quality and creates new photographic possibilities. Dual "DIGIC III" Image Processors work in tandem to speed up data handling and camera operation, while further refining imaging performance. Tough, high-durability body and shutter designs, combined with the unique EOS Integrated Cleaning System, set new standards for professional dependability. Cutting-edge features-such as a large 3.0-inch LCD monitor with Live View Function, and a fast, precise 45-point AF system-make the EOS-1Ds Mark III powerful and versatile. And, of course, the EOS-1Ds Mark III is part of the unparalleled EOS System, which, with more than 50 EF lenses, 15 interchangeable focusing screens, and extensive wireless, remote control and lighting accessories, is the most advanced and powerful digital photography system in the world."

The amazing wild west

Just got back from spending a LOT of time in the dessert.  Photographed a top 40 rock band in Vegas for a computer company (cant say who or what right now) and had an awesome shoot at the Palms Casino pool. It was a tad hot though, 110+ degrees....
After a couple days in Sin City, a videographer friend of mine and I drove through the dessert to 29 Palms Marine base. The dessert is an amazing place and lots of fun driving the back roads if you have a fast car. I wish I had more time to explore the ghost towns and old route 66. By the way, if you see an ad for the "Amazing Ghost of Calico," just keep on driving. I will plan a trip through the west again soon.
Some sights along the way:

DJ Enferno

Had a shoot with DJ Enferno tonight. Made a stop to the hardware store to fix up some light fixture parts to use as sweet backgrounds. What do you think (see first shot with suit/tie)?

Big Brothers and Sisters

This is not necessarily photo-related, but proud to say my "little brother" and I made it to the front page of the Big Brothers and Sisters of America newsletter.

Being a mentor to a young person is a truly enlightening and rewarding experience and only takes a few hours out of your week. BBBSA needs more big brothers and sisters!
